Fault Cause
Starter motor damaged. Long-term non-use caused corrosion and internal seizure; drive gear failed to return and kept rotating with the engine, resulting in overheating and ablation.
Troubleshooting Process
- Onsite inspection showed engine oil, hydraulic oil and coolant were at normal levels.
- Turned ignition switch to ON; battery relay operated normally. Battery voltage was low, and no response occurred with external power supply.
- Measured 24V at starter positive terminal; negative ground connection was normal.
- With key at START position, 24V was present on 12# wire to starter relay, ruling out starting circuit fault. Starter motor was confirmed faulty.
- Disassembled starter and found drive gear stuck with ablation; starter was unusable.
- Replaced with new starter motor; fault eliminated.

Troubleshooting Experience
Long-term parked equipment should be operated regularly for rust prevention.
THE END
